    Job Description

    The Department of Psychology, housed in the Brailsford College of Arts and Sciences at Prairie View A&M University, invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position for Assistant/Associate Professor, scheduled to start in Summer 2024 or Fall 2024. The Assistant/Associate Professor for Clinical Psychology will teach primarily graduate-level courses, engage in research and publication of research findings, supervise and serve on thesis and doctoral committees, as well as participate in other service commitments. At times, the candidate may be required to teach undergraduate courses according to the needs of the department.

    Responsibilities:

    Teaching and advising students in academic and clinical settings, supervising clinical experiences, and engaging in professionally related community service.

    Assisting in the development of online Canvas courses.

    Collaborating with the Doctoral Clinical Adolescent Psychology Program Director and Psychology faculty in the development of accreditation documents.

    Maintaining an active research agenda, securing extramural funding, and publishing results in peer-reviewed journals.

    Serving on committees involving curriculum or program-related issues.

    Engaging in service and outreach activities at the college, University, regional, state, national, and international levels.

    Required Education & Experience:

    Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from APA accredited program.

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    Strong quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method research skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Texas or near eligible for such licensure in the State of Texas

    A record of publication commensurate with appointment at the rank of assistant/associate professor and evidence of ongoing research projects.

    A record of extramural funding

    Evidence of effective teaching at the graduate levels

    Strong collegial, communication, and collaborative teamwork skills

    Proof of a relational approach to working with students and colleagues; and

    Knowledge of APA accreditation process

    Online teaching experience.
