    On our H80 ComplexMedical Care Unit, you will be caring for adult patients that needyour care the most. These are medically complex patients that havediverse and extensive health problems, who also may require ongoingcardiac monitoring, so you will be trained in Cardiac Dysrhythmiaand EKG interpretation.

    Our nurses work aday/night rotating shift, rotating 7:00a - 7:30p / 7:00p - 7:30aevery 6-week scheduling period. Every other weekend and every otherholiday rotation is also standardpractice.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides directnursing care in accordance with established policies, proceduresand protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements andmonitors patient careplans.
    • Monitors, records andcommunicates patient condition asappropriate.
    • Monitors anddocuments patient's condition and effectiveness and timeliness ofcare and/orinterventions.
    • Evaluates,updates and revises plan of care to facilitate achievement ofplanned and expectedoutcomes.
    • Serves as aprimary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patientcare.
    • Administers prescribedmedications and treatments in accordance with approved nursingprotocol.
    • Notes and carriesout physician and nursingorders.
    • Assesses andcoordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of thehealthcare team.
    • Assesseseducational needs of the patient and significant others consideringcultural issues and other specialconcerns.
    • Provides teachingand educational material asappropriate.
    • Validates anddocuments patient and family understanding ofteaching.
    • Maintainsprofessional growth and development through ongoing formal andinformal education and clinical nursingstudy.
    • Other duties asassigned.

    Education:

    • Graduate from anaccredited school of professional nursing. BSNpreferred.

    Certifications:

    • Currentstate licensure as Registered Nurse(RN).
    • Proof of Basic LifeSupport (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must bepresented uponhire.

    Complexityof Work:

    • Requirescritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to workwith minimalsupervision.
    • Must be able towork in a stressful environment and take appropriateaction.

    WorkExperience:

    • Minimumone year current acute care RN experience in a hospital settingrequired for acute caresettings.
    • Willconsider licensed military RNexperience.

    PhysicalRequirements:

    • Requires fullrange of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manualand finger dexterity, and eye-handcoordination.
    • Requiresstanding and walking for extended periods oftime.
    • Requires correctedvision and hearing to normalrange.
    • Requires workingunder stressful conditions and irregularhours.
    • Exposure tocommunicable diseases and/or bodyfluids.
    • Medium Work -Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10pounds of force constantly to moveobjects.
    • Physical Demandrequirements are in excess of those for LightWork.

    PersonalProtective Equipment:

    • Follows standardprecautions using personal protective equipment asrequired.
