    Description

    The Construction Field Engineer will work alongside the Superintendent and General Superintendent to provide project support to complete civil, mainline, roadway, bridge, and other heavy construction projects. Support of projects include assisting Project managers & Estimators with bidding opportunities, reviewing plans, and specifications to ensure that project plan requirements are met.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Assist Superintendent in the field with construction layout/shooting grade.
    • Perform QA/QC in the field, making grout samples, installation logs for deep foundations.
    • Assist Project Managers & Estimators with bidding opportunities, reviewing plans and specifications.
    • Assist Engineering with drafting and calculations for the design of deep foundation and earth retention.
    • Perform plan takeoffs and estimates.
    • Perform field calculations of grades for pipelines, cut and fill for grading, setting grades and offsets for manholes, inlets and other unforeseenfield
    Minimum Skills and Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management or Engineering Technology
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD software
    • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft Office Programs
    • Ability to work as a team and use basic reasoning/problem solving skills to resolve issues quickly with little or no direction.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule format.
    • OSHA 30 Hour certification preferred. If not current, must receive within first year of employment & keep current.
    • Ability to read blueprints/job drawings.
    • Working knowledge of HCSS preferred or other type of Project Management software preferred.
    • Knowledge of design programs preferred.
    Will require some travel to jobsites in and around southeast United States.
