    Job Description

    Position Objective:

    As a healthcare provider, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care to patients. You will work as an integral part of the healthcare team.

    Essential Job Duties:

    1. Clinical Decision Making/Judgment
      • You will demonstrate clinical nursing knowledge and skills in your area of specialization.
      • You will assess patients' needs and develop individualized plans of care based on established standards.
      • You will prioritize patient care activities effectively and make necessary adjustments as needed.
      • You will consistently and thoroughly assess patients to identify learning needs and develop teaching plans.
      • You will implement patient care plans according to established standards and policies.
      • You will evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make recommendations for improvement.
    2. Nurse-Patient Family Relationships
      • You will assess patients' and families' learning needs and develop teaching plans accordingly.
      • You will provide direct patient care in a culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate manner.
      • You will plan care that addresses patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and learning needs.
    3. Clinical Scholarship
      • You will participate in quality improvement initiatives at the unit or department level.
      • You will support the use of evidence-based guidelines and organizational policies to promote safe patient care.
    4. Clinical Leadership
      • You will participate in unit shared governance according to departmental standards.
      • You will delegate patient care activities as appropriate and evaluate their effectiveness.

      Educational/Experience Requirements:

      1. You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
      2. You must adhere to credentialing requirements as stated in the nursing bylaws.

      Required License/Certifications:

      1. You must hold current licensure as a registered nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
      2. You must hold BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

      Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

      You may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens while performing this job.

      This position requires medium physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly.
