    Description

    The position: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer / Planner to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, ensuring material availability, maintaining inventory accuracy, and creating and managing Manufacturing Orders (MOs) to support efficient production and on-time delivery.

    The Buyer / Planner plays a critical role in connecting purchasing, inventory, production, and finance—translating demand into executable manufacturing plans while optimizing costs and maintaining operational efficiency.

    This is an in-person position at our Fort Lauderdale, FL facility.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Manufacturing Order (MO) Management

    ·      Create, release, and maintain accurate Manufacturing Orders based on demand and production requirements

    ·      Ensure MOs include correct bills of materials (BOMs), routings, quantities, specifications, and due dates

    ·      Coordinate MO revisions due to engineering changes, substitutions, or customer updates

    ·      Close completed MOs accurately and on time to maintain cost and inventory integrity

    ·      Ensure all MO transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP system

    Purchasing & Supplier Management

    ·      Source, negotiate, and procure raw materials, components, and indirect supplies

    ·      Issue and manage purchase orders with accurate pricing, quantities, and lead times

    ·      Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships

    ·      Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, shortages, or late deliveries

    ·      Identify alternate suppliers to mitigate risk and support cost savings initiatives

    Material Planning & Availability

    ·      Determine material requirements based on open Manufacturing Orders and inventory levels

    ·      Coordinate purchasing to ensure materials support released production orders

    ·      Monitor material status and proactively communicate shortages or risks

    ·      Expedite critical materials when required

    ·      Forecast material needs using historical usage and demand projections

    Inventory Control & Accuracy

    ·      Maintain ownership of inventory accuracy through cycle counting and variance resolution

    ·      Develop and execute cycle count schedules

    ·      Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions

    ·      Ensure accurate ERP transactions for receipts, issues, and adjustments

    ·      Support inventory optimization and reduction initiatives

    Workflow Coordination & Communication

    ·      Serve as a key liaison between purchasing, production, quality, and finance

    ·      Provide visibility into material readiness and MO status

    ·      Coordinate resolution of MO issues related to materials or BOM accuracy

    ·      Communicate risks and updates to support production planning decisions

    Cost Control & Reporting

    ·      Monitor material costs and identify savings opportunities

    ·      Track inventory accuracy and MO performance metrics

    ·      Prepare reports on purchasing activity, cycle counts, and material availability

    ·      Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate data

    Process Improvement

    ·      Identify and implement improvements in purchasing, planning, and inventory processes

    ·      Assist in developing and maintaining SOPs

    ·      Support ERP data accuracy and system improvements

    ·      Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

    To do this job you need to:

    ·      Experience in purchasing, material planning, inventory control, or production planning in a manufacturing environment

    ·      Strong understanding of ERP systems and manufacturing processes

    ·      Working knowledge of BOMs, routings, and Manufacturing Orders

    ·      Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    ·      Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams and suppliers

    ·      Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

    ·      Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools

    ·      Be at least 18 years old

    ·      Have safe work habits

    ·      Ability to communicate effectively

    ·      Positive attitude, exemplary attendance, and reliable team member

    ·      Working Hours 7:00am – 3:30 pm

    ·      Pass a criminal background check, and authorized to work in the United States

    ·      Willingness to work a variable schedule to support your team and plant

    ·      Speaks clear English, bilingual a plus
