Job Description

Burrow Global is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in solids handling and conveyor systems associated in the recycling field.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in solids handling, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems for solids handling and solids separation projects. This role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of projects, adherence to industry standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and participate in the design and conveyor systems, solids separation processes and have a general knowledge of mechanical handling equipment.

Develop detailed design specifications, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with project requirements, industry standards, and best practices.

Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations for mechanical systems, proposing and implementing design improvements as necessary.

Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, including engineers, designers, and technicians, throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaborate with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and quality standards.

Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design integrity, performance, and safety of mechanical systems.

Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency enhancement in facility design for solids handling and processes, implementing new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.

Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes related to solids handling techniques and innovations, incorporating relevant knowledge into project execution.

Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and client presentations to communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations effectively.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and offering technical training opportunities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.

Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.

Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on solids handling processes.

Proven expertise in the design, analysis, and optimization of solids handling, including relevant equipment and conveyor systems.

Strong proficiency in engineering software and tools for design, simulation, and analysis (e.g., CAD software, finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics).

In-depth knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations governing general plant design (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and providing technical guidance and mentorship.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to addressing engineering challenges.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet project deadlines within budget constraints.
