- Patient Evaluation and Assessment: Perform thorough evaluations of patients referred for radiological procedures, including reviewing medical history, conducting physical examinations, and assessing relevant clinical data.
- Diagnostic Imaging Interpretation: Assist radiologists in interpreting diagnostic imaging studies, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine scans, to identify abnormalities and provide preliminary findings.
- Procedure Assistance: Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals in performing interventional radiology procedures, such as biopsies, drainages, and vascular interventions, by providing assistance during procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Ordering and Reviewing Imaging Studies: Order and review diagnostic imaging studies as delegated by supervising radiologists, ensuring appropriate utilization and adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document patient assessments, procedures performed, and radiological findings accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Participate in quality assurance activities, such as peer review, case conferences, and performance improvement initiatives, to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including radiologists, radiologic technologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers, to coordinate patient care, facilitate communication, and optimize outcomes.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on advances in radiology practice, imaging technology, and evidence-based guidelines through continuing education, conferences, and self-directed learning activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
