    Description

    Position Summary:

    Accountable for safe, efficient operation and daily maintenance of assigned company and leased vehicles, including but not limited to 54 foot vehicles, trucks greater than 26,000 pounds, tractors, trailers, vans, and/or other delivery or material handling equipment.
    Performs verification and checker duties for all loads delivered and/or returned in accordance with procedures. Completes all documentation to maintain and satisfy government and company regulations. Complies with all government regulations for Safety and maintains all certifications for equipment as required.

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions
    Maintains all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements for Florida Class A licensure.
    Ensures the completion of daily work assignments and delivery routes to maximize productivity while ensuring all Safety regulations and standards are achieved.
    Performs staging, loading, and unloading functions as required.
    Ensures that all delivery and manifest documents and functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
    Distributes documentation to appropriate departments upon delivery and pick-up.
    Assists in loading/unloading trucks and operates material handling equipment as needed.
    Checks that orders are complete and that proper labels and tickets are applied when required.
    Verifies proper documentation is available with deliveries as required.
    Maintain safe and clean delivery equipment, including removal and disposal of waste materials in appropriate manner.
    Ensures all Pre- and Post- Delivery Vehicle Inspection Reports are completed at the end of the shift, and any deficiencies are reported,
    to comply with government and company regulations.
    Ensures any and all potential safety deficiencies are reported immediately in order to eliminate violations and downtime.
    Maintains company procedures and standards for Ecological policies regarding recycling, energy conservation, and other green
    initiatives.
    Follows all fuel expense policies and documentation.
    Performs driving responsibilities primarily during the evening and night shift.
    Performs other duties as assigned, such as Receiver and or Packer/Stager.
    Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
    Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

    Other Related Functions
    Uses sound working knowledge of regulatory requirements within span of duties, including but not limited to DOT, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
    Exhibits excellent Customer Service behavioral skills.
    To ensure compliance with all DOT and government regulations, the following are required:
    o Pre-employment, upon transfer, and/or random drug testing
    o Annual review of driving record

    Qualifications:

    Education/Training
    High School graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of equipment training certification related to fork-lift, pallet-jack, and other required industrial equipment utilized within the consolidated service center.

    Licensure/Certification
    Valid Florida Drivers license with no more than six (6) points; must be at least 21 years of age and insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carriers requirements and standards.
    Florida Drivers license CDL Class A license.
    Completion of Driver Qualification (DQ) file required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

    Experience
    Two (2) years driving experience with 48 or 53 foot trailers or tractor trailer combination, including experience with invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading, freight bills, and other associated documentation.
