    Good Samaritan Hospice is looking for IPU Supervisor for our Wexford House

    POSITION SUMMARY
    The Hospice Inpatient Unit Supervisor is a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) who administers all aspects of patient care, staffing and scheduling needs, employee evaluations, and compliance with the Department of Health. The Supervisor serves in a consultative role, acting as an advocate for hospice patients and families. The supervisor will also serve as a liaison for the Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center, to provide hospice education for patients and their families. The Supervisor provides skilled nursing care in the inpatient hospice facility to hospice patients in accordance with the individualized plan of care developed by the patient and/or family, physician and hospice team.

    QUALIFICATIONS


    • Current RN license in the state of Pennsylvania

    • Two [2] years acute care nursing experience or hospice inpatient experience preferred

    • Possesses and demonstrates excellent clinical and assessment skills

    • Possesses and demonstrates strong communication, listening, problem solving, decision making and management skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Facilitates timely monthly staffing schedules ensuring all shifts are covered per guidelines and submits to the Inpatient Unit Manager
    2. Assigns duties among staff on all shifts to ensure operational and maintenance needs are being met
    3. Helps cover vacations and /or call offs
    4. Assures accurate completion of staff timesheets as requested
    5. Works closely with the Clinical Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with Life Safety codes
    6. When necessary, helps with office managerial duties and coverage of other inpatient units
    7. Participates in the evaluation process of inpatient unit employees
    8. Serve as a liaison for the hospital to provide clinical assessments and education to those seeking hospice service.
