    **Description**

    **UCT** is seeking an experienced and talented **Lead** **Material Handler** to join our team in **Austin, TX** Under limited supervision and guidance, performs clerical and manual duties related to the efficient flow of materials into and out of the facility as well as internal distribution. Receives and ships materials and finished goods restock materials in the stockroom, kits, and issues material to manufacturing. Maintain safe practice at all times. This is a fully trained lead position.

    **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

    Help establish and document material handling procedures;

    Understands the implications of work and recommends solutions;

    Work closely with manufacturing to provide materials as needed; issue material from the stockroom to manufacturing;

    May provide guidance to other non-exempt warehouse employees;

    Maintain correct inventory levels in the stockroom;

    May determine methods and procedures for new assignments, and adhere to established guidelines;

    Prepare reports and conduct inventories in the stockroom;

    Operate forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe manner;

    Maintain safe practices at all times;

    Use the inventory database and become proficient in the receiving and stockroom related transactions;

    Maintain a professional relationship with all vendors and delivery people;

    Comply with all company quality assurance methodologies and goals;

    Performs other tasks as assigned;

    May drive company truck and/or forklift.

    **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

    Works on assignments that require considerable judgment and initiative;

    Provide oversight to the work of other material handlers as needed to achieve department and company goals

    Coordinate the movement of material within the stockroom to use space efficiently and effectively

    Working knowledge of MRP systems, Visual preferred

    Good computer literacy;

    Good mathematics and written/verbal skills;

    Communicate with other departments as necessary to ensure all goals are achieved

    **Educational/Certification Requirement:**

    High School Diploma/equivalent

    APICS coursework/certification a plus

    Acceptable drivers record for driving company vehicles (as required)

    Forklift certification (as required)

    **Experience Requirement:**

    **Work Experience:**

    4 to 6 years of related experience in a variety of roles;

    Forklift and pallet jack operating experience;

    Prolonged standing and bending intermittently during work hours.

    Is subject to frequent interruptions.

    Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers to type.

    Ability to sit or stand for sustained periods.

    Required to have visual acuity to perform assigned tasks.

    Close vision required.

    **Environmental Exposure:**

    Subject to noise levels.

    Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions

    May involve exposure to noise hazard areas.

    Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, exposure to chemicals, and debris.

    Subject to hazards, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.

    Subject to hazards including working on ladders.

    Required to wear personal protective equipment.

    **Overnight Travel:**

    Work may require out-of-town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
