    American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position on a 15-bed LDRP unit, requiring at least 2 years of OB/L&D experience and an active Michigan RN license.

    Responsibilities

    • 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
    • Patient population includes antepartum, labor and delivery, OR, newborn, and couplet care patients
    • Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
    • Nurses perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine
    • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
    • Every other weekend required
    • Floating to other units within the facility as a sitter when needed, and to a sister campus approximately 27 miles away when census allows; travelers float first
    • No on-call requirements
    • Epic EMR used
    • RNs provide full-scope LDRP care including antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub, newborn care at delivery, and couplet care
    • Will be trained to complete newborn infant hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine
    • Scrubs are provided
    • Orientation includes non-billable self-reported modules (approximately 8 hours, completed annually)
    • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the contract
    • Former employees must have a separation of at least 6 months before returning
    • Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
    • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

    Requirements

    • Active Michigan RN license required
    • Minimum 2 years of OB, Mother/Baby, and L&D experience required
    • Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and either AWHONN Intermediate or NCC C-EFM (both not required)
    • Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced
    • Required skills: OR circulating and fetal heart monitoring (FHM) triage
    • Preferred skill: scrub
    • References required for consideration
    • Proof of flu vaccination required; exemption requests must be submitted promptly after signing
