Job Description:
Pay Range $43hr - $53hr
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of products used to ensure first responders and military personal are able to communicate successfully when they are executing their missions.
The individual will work within a team environment to help analyze, select, and qualify components and technology used in the company's offerings.
Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers or governmental representatives and development engineers to determine alternate, approved, sources.
Develops guidelines/procedures on vendor selection and classification of technology.
Evaluates supplier change notification and qualifies changes, as needed.
May maintain component data management system including qualification or commodity classification records/results/documentation.
Qualifications:
Component engineering involves working with designers, manufacturers, purchasing, quality, environmental-health-safety, program management and vendors to ensure the compatibility of all components.
Component engineers must possess skills to help them work with many different functional groups within client.
Must Haves:
Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Working knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical components.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite:
Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Knowledge of the principles of electronics.
Skills in general engineering and experience with Components Engineering.
Must have strong communication skills to work with multiple departments.

Knowledge of the principles of electronics.
Knowledge of connectors and cables is a plus.
Knowledge of the principles of materials, materials science, physics.
Understanding of the physical makeup and behavior of metals and materials.
Ability to work from a designer's specifications.
Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment; communicate and collaborate within the team environment and be open minded to discussions within the teams.
Knowledge/familiarity with military and industrial specifications and standards as well as test methods as they relate to parts and materials.
Ability to interface with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure program requirements are met.
Understanding of diagrams/drawings
electrical, mechanical, circuitry
and how to interpret them.
Understanding of product lifecycle management; to know when a component is going to be obsolete or to analyze the form fit functionality changes in the component.
Very good written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to be adaptable, flexible, and work on a broad number of items as needed.
Ability to navigate and use different software tools, such as: Agile, EDP, Access, Client.
