    Legacy Nursing Philosophy

    The core of Legacy's nursing philosophy is centered around patients and their families. Our nurses embody this approach in every aspect, serving as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers. They are highly respected by our healthcare team for their expertise.

    Unity, on the other hand, focuses on trauma-informed care and aims to destigmatize behavioral health diagnoses. Unity nurses strive to innovate and elevate behavioral health nursing through holistic treatment approaches. They apply their knowledge and skills through high-level critical thinking, individualized patient care plans, early interventions, specialized assessments, de-escalation techniques, and motivational interviewing.

    Our patients often require complex and intensive interventions to achieve stabilization. We have four adult units that cater to voluntary and involuntary patients aged 18 and above. Each unit has a capacity ranging from 17 to 25 private and shared beds. In addition to medication management, our care includes specialized nursing services, care management, peer support, multiple daily groups, animal therapy, and garden therapy. Nursing plays a vital role in the interdisciplinary treatment team, collaborating with patients to create a recovery journey.

    Responsibilities

    RN Staff Nurses are responsible for providing patient care within assigned departments/units and collaborate with the healthcare team under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. They assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to established patient care standards for Legacy Health System.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent required; BSN may be preferred for specific assignments.
    • One-year registered nursing experience or completion of Legacy's RN Residency program or an equivalent nursing program.
    • Demonstrated ability in positive interpersonal and communication skills, keyboard skills, and electronic system navigation applicable to job functions.

    Licensure

    Current applicable state RN license and AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification are required.
