    Job Description

    The Engineer III is highly specialized in one or more phases of systems development and systems integration support the analysis, design, and productions of Under Sea System in the Defense Acquisition Lifecycle.

    • Lead projects and interface with end item customers
    • Provide technical assistance and advice on complex activities
    • Formulate / define specifications, develops / modifies / maintains complex systems and subsystems for overall operational systems.
    • Apply analytical techniques when gathering information from users, defining work problems, designing technology solutions, and developing procedures to resolve the problems
    • Review task proposal requirements, gather information, analyze data, prepare project synopses, compare alternatives, prepare specifications, and coordinate work with engineers
    • Prepare recommendations for system improvements
    • Support Engineering Milestone Reviews, e.g., System Requirements Review, Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Operational Readiness Reviews and Incident Report Working Groups
    • Recommend sustainment/deployment/implementation approaches and ability to assess and recommended improvements to availability and operations
    • Able to identify technical risks and offer options to reduce risk

    Qualifications:

    Required

    • SECRET clearance required
    • Bachelor's level degree in any engineering discipline.
    • 7 years of professional experience in engineering.

    Desired

    • 10 or more years of experience with Navy submarine systems acquisition and/or In-Service Programs.
    • Demonstrated experience leading a project and interfacing with an end item customer
    • Demonstrated experience working with Undersea Systems (Torpedo Defense Systems preferred)
