    Main Purpose of Job

    This position will provide programmatic and policy support to the MDH Prevention and Health\r
    Promotion Administration's initiatives focused on population health throughout the\r
    Administration. The Prevention and Health Promotion Administration (PHPA) is the state's\r
    leading public health workforce, organized into five bureaus with nearly 600 staff and an\r
    annual budget of $600M. PHPA envisions a future in which all Marylanders and their families\r
    enjoy optimal health and well-being. To achieve this vision, PHPA is investing in efforts\r
    throughout the Administration to ensure population health efforts are embedded in policies,\r
    procedures and decision making. This position will serve as PHPA's main population health\r
    subject matter expert and coordinating: PHPA's population health stakeholder groups,\r
    population health related legislative/policy review and other emerging population health\r
    initiatives as indicated.\r

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:���A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\r
    Experience: Three years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.\r

    1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field�for one year of the required experience.\r
    2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field�for two years of the required experience. \r

    DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    The desired candidate should possess the following:\r

    Two years experience in public health\r
    Experience in community engagement and building partnerships�\r

    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
