- Managing and directing the operations and staff of food service engaged in the production and serving of meals to students and staff in accordance with District procedures, health regulations/standards, nutritional requirements, and quality standards.
- Purchasing of food items/supplies, administering the budget, and administering the Free and Reduced Meal Program.
- Supervises all Food Service personnel directly or through designated building Food Service personnel.
- Oversees and directs all aspects of the food service operations dealing with meal production and catering including:
- Directs and oversees the planning functions of food services.
- Collaborates and works closely with the Business Manager in the establishment and planning of the Food Service budget and purchasing options.
- Directs all aspects of the Free and Reduced Meal Program including the processing of applications, certifications, verification reporting, and all parent and student-related correspondence.
- Maintains all student free/reduced/full pay status along with all reporting requirements.
- Coordinates, maintains, and completes all state and federal reports and records pertaining to the food service program and for annual and state audits.
- Conducts various marketing and public relation activities to promote and inform the public of food service programs.
- Organizes nutrition information for students and families. Prepares menus, correspondence and materials to be distributed to students and families.
- A high school diploma (or GED) and a minimum of three years of relevant school nutrition experience.
- An Associate's degree, or equivalent education experience, with an academic major in a specific area and one year of relevant school nutrition experience.
- A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent educational experience, with an academic major in a specific area.
- A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent educational experience, with any academic major or area of concentration, and either a School Nutrition Association (SNA) Level 3 Certification or at least one year of relevant school nutrition experience.
