- Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians on the analysis, design, and plan production for structural projects and primarily bridge projects.
- Responsible for design quality and accuracy of engineering plans within desired budget and scope.
- Serve as a task lead and provide oversight for a wide variety of structural bridge design and associated tasks potentially including geometrics and layout, steel and concrete superstructures, foundations of all types, bridge hydraulics, bridge inspection and load rating, construction engineering, specifications and cost estimates.
- Makes independent decisions on engineering problems and selects appropriate structural solutions that are cost effective and constructible.
- Apply theoretical knowledge and technical experience to tackle uncommon and complex structural configurations - mentoring others in the process.
- Participation in project team meetings and project presentations including presentations to key project stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis in structural engineering. Master's degree with an emphasis in structural engineering strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years related experience, 10 years preferred, in a variety of engineering projects.
- Candidate must possess advanced technical proficiency, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving ability.
- The candidate must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) or on track to take the SE exam is desirable.
- Extensive experience designing steel plate girder and prestressed concrete girder bridges is required.
- Experience with complex structures such as trusses, arches, staged construction, seismic analysis, soil-structure interaction and stability analysis is desired.
- Proven experience executing engineering designs with aid of software such as LEAP, MDX, RISA, MIDAS or equivalent.
- Knowledge of CADD software including Bentley MicroStation
- Adhere to Burns & McDonnell's safety programs, training, and policies, as well as promote and manage the Safety & Health performance of project team members and subcontractors.
- Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians in the design and analysis of rail engineering projects as well as the contractors and construction staff on design/build projects.
- Provides leadership and guidance in multiple facets of projects including safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, environmental compliance, project controls, and public/community relations.
- Develop new and manage existing client relationships while interfacing with the client for proposal and project-related items.
- Lead internal and external project risk reviews and consult with the Legal Department as required.
- Client development, maintenance, and management; contract preparation and negotiation; coordination with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling; and the establishment of critical project objectives and performances.
- Plans, organizes, and communicates project personnel needs to department and section management.
- Mentors less experienced staff on technical aspects of a project.

- Understand and follow the company guidelines on the operation of the cash register and follow all cashier handling policies to prevent loss including tendering electronic fund transactions such as Credit/Debit Cards, EBT and Gift Cards, as well as cash and check transactions
- Understand and adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, limits on cash shortages and company shrink guidelines
- Answer phone and triage calls and answer inquiries as appropriate
- Complete billing procedures adequately to assure best value to the customer and the company
- Count, measure and prepare specified product using company best practices
- Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries
- Maintain departmental standards including keeping clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas
- Understand and follow the company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of all medications, devices, supplements and supplies
- Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers
- Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
- Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud
