- Working as clinical expert who works as a mentor to support and educate staff at the bedside with a multitude of clinical needs from the novice to the expert.
- Actively participating in patient care by evaluating current practice, facilitating development of policies, procedures and guidelines for patient care management, and serving as a subject matter expert in all aspects of nursing care, including wound prevention and management.
- Integrating knowledge, research findings, and experience to support the incorporation of evidence-based practice into excellent bedside nursing care.
- Consulting and collaborating across all disciplines.
- Providing leadership in practices, on committees, in quality improvement initiatives, and in research.
- Working primarily Monday - Friday with occasional evenings and weekends for off-shift educational needs and to provide support during periods of increased unit activity.
- Master's degree in Nursing required
- Current Massachusetts RN licensure required
- Current CNS certification granted by Board recognized certifying organization
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
- Pediatric critical care nursing experience required
- Previous CNS experience and a background in clinical research preferred.
