Position Summary
The Administrative Support Specialist serves in support of GT Church's mission as the primary point of communication for the congregation & broader community as well as providing essential administrative support that strengthens the day-to-day operations of the church office. This role ensures a welcoming and vibrant front-desk experience while assisting with key administrative tasks, data management, and care-related coordination. The Administrative Support Specialist reports to the Executive Pastor.
Front-Desk & Communication Responsibilities
- Receive and direct phone calls and messages during public hours.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting and distribution.
- Greet visitors and connect them with appropriate staff or ministries.
- Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries from the congregation and community.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-desk environment.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Enter and maintain accurate data for attendance, assimilation, and ministry engagement.
- Assist with accounts payable tasks such as invoice intake, bill payments, and data entry.
- Support office organization, supply management, and general administrative workflows.
- Prepare simple documents, forms, and communication pieces as needed.
- Assist with filing, record-keeping, and maintaining organized digital and physical systems.
- Provide routine administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations of the church office.
Ministry & Care Coordination
- Maintain and distribute prayer requests.
- Track and support "member care" connections (hospitalizations, funerals, birthdays, etc.)
- Coordinate communication between staff and congregants for care-related needs.
- Ensure timely follow-up on care notifications and pastoral-care requests.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of GT Church.
Qualifications for the Job
- A confession of faith in Jesus Christ, affirming his resurrection and Lordship.
- Willingness to commit to GT Church's values and beliefs.
- Reliable transportation to and from work with the expectation of being on site for the vast majority of scheduled hours.
- A commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity in all interactions.
