    Description of Work

    One aim of the university's N|2025 Strategic Plan is to establish a culture at Nebraska committed to increasing the impact of research and creative activity.

    The funding opportunity coordinator will contribute to Nebraska's land-grant mission in significant and essential ways by: 1) curating and disseminating funding opportunities that align with institutional eligibility and expertise; 2) providing targeted funding opportunity searches for individual scholars and projects; 3) managing and innovating limited submission and internal funding competitions; and 4) conducting research and outreach around funding opportunities to enhance faculty competitiveness and advance institutional priorities.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree and three years of proposal and/or research development or project management experience working in higher education in a high-volume, high-production, and/or sponsored research-intensive environment.

    Excellent communication and presentation skills. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Ability to quickly become familiar with complex subject matter in a wide variety of academic disciplines as well as the missions and priorities of a wide range of external funders.

    Ability to interact with professionals from diverse backgrounds. A high level of flexibility in the workplace. Ability to solve complex problems and independently make and/or implement decisions. Ability to communicate effectively and work closely with faculty and staff from many UNL units and high-level university administrators


    Preferred Qualifications

    Master's degree and five years of proposal and/or research development or project management experience working in higher education in a high-volume, high-production, and/or sponsored research-intensive environment.

    Experience preparing and delivering training programs and shared resources and tools helpful.
