    Director of Nursing

    To oversee and direct the ADN and LVN programs and coordinate team activities for faculty (classroom and clinical assignments), to teach 0-3 hours/week classroom or clinical assignments in the ADN or LVN program, and maintain high quality accredited programs.


    Master's and Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Doctoral preferred, unencumbered current licensed or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Texas, a degree or equivalent experience that will demonstrate competency and advanced preparation in nursing, education, and administration, have been actively employed in nursing for the past five years, preferably in administration or teaching, with a minimum of one year teaching experience in prelicensure nursing education program, three years teaching experience in a collegiate nursing program, prior experience preferred in an Associate Degree or Baccalaureate accredited nursing program preferred.

    Endorse the concept of community college education. Good communication skills, both orally and in writing. Good organizational skills (organize and prioritize). Sound knowledge of principles and theory of teaching. Be computer literate.

    This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee. Additional optional coverages includes dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability.

    Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas or Optional Retirement Program, accrued sick leave, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program.

    Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
