Archer Mechanical is seeking a full-time Service Manager to lead, mentor, and develop the Building Services Department.
Archer Mechanical specializes in sustainable mechanical and plumbing systems, providing design-build, design-assist, new construction, additions, remodels, retrofits, service, and preventative maintenance.
The organization has been established since 1987 and has continued to grow rapidly over the past 36 years. Archer Mechanical produces a higher-value product cost-effectively and efficiently using progressive construction planning technologies, advanced construction materials, and manufacturing methods, reducing safety risks, schedule durations, and congestion on the job site while enhancing the construction results.
The Service Manager plays a critical leadership role within the Service & Maintenance division and is responsible for driving technician performance, customer satisfaction, departmental efficiency, and long-term team development. This individual will serve as both a technical resource and people leader, ensuring the Service Department operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Archer Mechanical's standards.
This position requires demonstrated experience in commercial HVAC and/or Plumbing service environments and a strong commitment to mentorship, accountability, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations of the HVAC and Plumbing Service Department.
- Mentor and develop Service Technicians, Apprentices, and support staff.
- Conduct regular ride-alongs, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
- Support onboarding and technical training in partnership with Archer University initiatives.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor technician productivity, utilization, and service efficiency.
- Support dispatch and scheduling to ensure timely response to service calls.
- Drive preventative maintenance contract performance and conversion opportunities.
- Review work orders for accuracy, quality and completeness.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting complex HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Ensure installations and repairs meet applicable building codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with job walks, system evaluations, and customer recommendations as needed. Maintain familiarity with commercial mechanical systems, controls, and hydronic applications.
- Maintain strong working relationships with service clients.
- Support quoting of repairs, retrofits, and recommended upgrades.
- Identify opportunities for additional service offerings or contract expansion.
- Ensure Archer Mechanical is represented professionally in all client interactions.
- Ensure adherence to all Archer Mechanical safety standards and policies.
- Support weekly safety meetings and departmental safety initiatives.
- Promote compliance with local, state, and national regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- Preferred 10+ years of commercial HVAC and/or Plumbing Service experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of commercial mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop technicians at varying experience levels.
- Familiarity with reading plans, system schematics, and service documentation.

Pay: $110, $140,000.00 per year
