    Client Overview:


    Established over 100 years ago in the Chicagoland area, my client is looking for a Senior Project Manager with heavy civil (asphalt, excavating, paving, concrete, rail) experience that can run and operate an office in the South west Suburbs/ North West Indiana.

    This position is key for my clients 2024/2025/2026 growth plans and they are prepared to invest heavily in this region.

    This Senior Project Manager will have full control over processes, hiring, client communications, budgets and more.

    Candidate Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field/equivalent experience
    • Heavy Civil background with 8-15 years managing construction projects
    • Leadership experience managing 3-5 direct reports
    • Strong estimating skills utilizing HCSS Heavy Job Heavy Bid
    • Rail, excavation, grading, utility, pavement, asphalt experience required
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and personnel simultaneously
    • Knowledge of construction, design, cost reporting and cash flow management
    • Proficiency in Project Management and Scheduling Software
    • OSHA 10, OSHA 30 certification
    • Ability to run multiple projects at a time ranging from $1M-$10M

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with designers and engineers to establish project design
    • Develop project budget and timeline
    • Select the most efficient and cost-effective vendors
    • Oversee construction to ensure production meets deadlines within budget guidelines
    • Document status updates and process reports for upper management
    • Review the closing of each project to ensure structures meet client specifications
    • Ability to consistently prepare accurate project cost estimates and schedules
    • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems before they become major issues
    • Ability to successfully negotiate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
    • Working knowledge of construction legal issues including contracts, liens, labor standards, safety standards and other related topics
    • Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently included budgeting, scheduling, QA, safety, owner and architect correspondence, billings, subcontracting, contract management
    • Ability to develop business relationships and networking contacts to increase the company's presence in the business community that results in new business opportunities
    • Knowledge of Company Estimating, Scheduling and Project Management software
