Job Summary (List Format) – Technical Writer (NYC, NY)
- Support Security Projects: Oversee and manage a portfolio of security-related projects, providing coordination and support to senior management.
- Project Management: Track project tasks, monitor progress against milestones, manage budgets and scope, and ensure projects align with timelines and security standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Procurement, Legal, and other teams to facilitate the execution of security initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to review and update security systems, protocols, and policies.
- Executive-Level Presentations: Prepare and deliver executive presentations and reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Agency Security Programs: Assist in evaluating and improving MTA security programs by supporting performance reviews and identifying enhancement areas.
- Budget Tracking & Reporting: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare financial reports to maintain alignment with funding allocations.
- Technology Research & Vendor Assessment: Conduct research on emerging security technologies and vendors, including AI surveillance and analytics, and recommend solutions.
- Video Library Management: Assist in developing and maintaining the MTA video library for operational insights and incident documentation.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Aid in the development and review of security policies and procedures.
- Program Support: Provide reporting and tracking on tactical security programs (e.g., drones, deployable camera development).
- Process Improvement: Identify and resolve resource gaps, and recommend improvements for project and program effectiveness.
- Utilize Tools: Work with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, Visio, and similar tools for documentation, tracking, and presentations.
- Metrics & Dashboards: Track and report on performance metrics, KPIs, and project status updates.
- Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with public-sector regulatory and policy requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Computer/Information Science, or similar technical discipline.
- 1-3 years' experience in project coordination/management, especially in physical security or technical system deployment.
- General understanding of project management, video management systems, security cameras, networking, electrical principles, and SDLC.
- Strong technical writing, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Valid US driver's license.
- Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
