    Job Overview:
    Mechanical Engineer with Pressure Vessel expertise for our Houston location.

    The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work independently and in a team setting within a dynamic work environment.


    Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
    Perform detailed engineering design activities in support of very large projects in EPC phase.

    Activities will involve one or more of the following:
    Mechanical design of Pressure Vessels using software such as Compress, PVElite. Prepare vessel data sheets, specifications, requisitions, perform technical bid evaluation and make recommendations. Review vendor data. Supervise subordinate engineers.
    Maintains and promotes a focus on end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
    Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.
    Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines.
    Ensures effective management of change.
    Adopt and leverage McDermotts Engineering Standards.

    Maintain or support any site-specific requirements or standardsEssential Qualifications and Education:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering requiredMinimum 10 years detailed design experience / Familiar with ASME, API and ANSI codes.

    Experienced with vessel services such as Columns, Column internals, Reactors, Dryers, Filters & Coalescers, drums, storage tanks etc.


    Preferred Qualifications and Education:
