    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a PRN or PT Nurse with 2-3 years of hospice experience to provide exceptional care and support to our patients and their families. As a PRN or PT Nurse, you will be an integral part of our hospice care team, delivering compassionate care and assisting with various aspects of end-of-life care. Be available to serve all throughout DFW areas as needed. Must be available to work on WEEKEND DAYS and NIGHTS and some weeknights, to include HOLIDAYS as needed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in their homes or other designated settings.
    • Assess and manage symptoms related to terminal illness, focusing on pain and symptom control.
    • Comfortably and respectfully pronounce death when necessary, following established protocols.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.
    • Insert and manage catheters, ensuring patient comfort and hygiene.
    • Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and their families, particularly during times of complicated grief.
    • Respect and accommodate diverse religious and cultural beliefs in end-of-life care, tailoring care plans accordingly.
    • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team, including physicians, social workers, and chaplains, to provide holistic care.
    • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
    • Participate in regular team meetings and in-service education to enhance your skills and knowledge.

    Qualifications:

    • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
    • 2-3 years of hospice nursing experience
    • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations
    • Proficiency in providing compassionate end-of-life care.
    • Comfort and proficiency in pronouncing death
    • Experience in catheter insertion and management
    • Sensitivity and skill in addressing complicated grief situations.
    • Ability to respect and accommodate various religious and cultural beliefs.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centered approach to care
    • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
    • CPR certification
    • Willingness to work PRN or PT hours MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKEND DAYS AND NIGHTS.
