    JOB SUMMARY: Each job title holds the core responsibility of supporting materials management operations through the delivery of exceptional customer service and the accurate delivery throughout the Stillwater Medical Center System. The Materials Management Distribution Tech is accountable to the Director of Materials Management and is located in the materials management supply room. Accountable to the MM Director for the successful utilization, maximization, training, and compliance of the automated point of use Pyxis Supply Station System (Pyxis Specialists). Responsible for the manual and automated (Pyxis) distribution and storage of materials, supplies, and linen delivered throughout the facility and to hospital owned and managed offsite locations. Also responsible for maintaining hospital-wide manual and automated par level systems including, but not limited to, stock level adjustments, outages, and expired product prevention, auditing purchasing and receiving transactions related to the storeroom by accurately checking in the freight delivered to the supply room, and for accurate rotation and placement. Provides back up for MM Tech (surgical services – team lead), MM Tech (medical), MM Tech (Critical Care Services), & MM Tech (PPM/Offsite Locations & Pyxis Specialist – team lead). Takes call according to the rotation schedule.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent.
  • Excellent Customer and People Skills.
  • Multi-tasking and Organizational Skills.
  • Computer Experience: Data Entry, Excel, Outlook Email & Calendar, as well as other programs to be trained on that support the various department processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read, follow written instructions, and write legibly.
  • Basic mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Understands the concept of inventory management par level systems and simple accounting (debits and credits).
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Time & Attendance: the ability to effectively and accurately master the use of the time clock; and understand the importance of arriving and departing on time.
  • Ability to acknowledge and recognize the contributions of others in our work environment and "Manage Them Up" to the director.
  • Ability to represent the Materials Management Department and the Stillwater Medical Center in a positive manner
  • Ability to use a manual and / or electronic pallet jack and properly utilizes office equipment such as: copier, postage machine, three-hole punch, etc.
  • Ability to safely operate a van or truck lift gate.
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
  • Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.
  • This position involves considerable physical exertion such as walking, pushing, pulling, bending at knees, stooping, and reaching.
  • Stamina to handle seasonal temperatures when accepting deliveries that are being offloaded to transport carts at the freight dock.
  • Stamina to handle the offloading of freight from transport carriers when needed to assist and/or to and from transport carts.
  • Stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete necessary work within the allotted timeframe.
  • Stamina to process and deliver all incoming supply request on a daily basis.
  • Stamina to assist as needed with processing outgoing freight the same day it arrives (no carry overs to the next day).
  • Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, etc.
  • Able to hear, listen, and accurately relay information via telephone, cellular phone, and Vocera.
  • Able to read small print and record specific and accurate detail.
