    Overview:

    The Kitchen Steward washes and sanitizes all tableware, serving materials, cooking equipment and small wares. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. Kitchen Steward is also responsible for the proper sanitation, cleanliness, and storage of all products and equipment in the kitchen.

    This position requires the ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for some mornings, noon, and evenings shifts on an on-call/event based schedule.

    This role will pay an hourly wage of $15.00.

    Responsibilities:
    • Washes culinary and service dishes and utensils; cleans tables, walls, and floors, maintains the general cleanliness of the kitchen, and stocks food and other items using correctly written date labels.
    • Has an active State Food Handlers Certification, and actively updates as necessary.
    • Utilizes and implements M.S.D.S. criteria, food and product safety, and Food and Beverage Policies and Procedures.
    • Removes all trash and maintains loading and receiving areas in safe and clean condition.
    • Stocks plates, glasses, pots, utensils and pans after cleaning.
    • Cleans and sanitizes all food service areas and equipment.
    • Continued growth and initiative to improve upon culinary skills on a day to day basis by seeking knowledge from those in higher positions.
    • Responsible for other duties as assigned.
    • Is able to work independently or with very minimal oversight and instruction by Lead Cooks, Supervisors, Sous Chefs, or Executive Chef
    • Assists in basic food prep and production as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • Ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for some mornings, noon, and evenings shifts.
    • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
    • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
