    Job Description:


    Myriad Genetic Laboratories is seeking a creative and energetic individual to join a team of 12 Genetic Counselors/Medical Information Liaisons (MILs).

    This position has the flexibility to be located onsite at our laboratory in Salt Lake City, UT or remote work from home position.

    Responsibilities


    • Provide clinical support by phone to healthcare providers, patients, and Myriad field staff regarding all aspects of hereditary cancer testing and our tumor test options. These interactions include discussion of various topics including risk assessment, interpretation of results, medical management, sample submission and laboratory procedures.
    • Provide clinical information and interact extensively with other departments at MGL (Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Laboratory Operations).
    • Coordinate the development of scientific and marketing collateral in conjunction with Marketing.
    • Participate in product research and development, providing input from a clinical perspective.
    • Development and presentation of in-house training programs and involvement with the University of Utah Genetic Counseling Training Program and other training programs nationwide.
    • Travel time: 0-20%. Occasional travel to Salt Lake City for ongoing training and/or project participation may be required. Some regional and national conference attendance may be encouraged.


    This is an excellent position for anyone who would like to build and expand their genetic counseling skills, develop expertise in a wide range of oncology testing and explore varied roles for genetic counselors.

    This is a unique position as it provides opportunities for business/corporate involvement as well as direct patient interaction.

    Qualifications


    • Must be American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certified or be eligible for active candidate status
    • Exceptional written and verbal skills
    • Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work effectively under tight timelines and schedules
    • Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
    • Ability to sense the importance or impact of issues and situations and take appropriate actions
    • Must be flexible, innovative, and self-motivated
    • Must have the flexibility to work extra hours to meet corporate and departmental goals
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
