    IT Senior InfoSec Analyst


    The Senior InfoSec Analyst conducts advanced hunting with security and SIEM tools to look through log files for threats and investigate computer and network security incidents detected by tool, InfoSec investigators, or threat intelligence.

    The Senior InfoSec Analyst is a senior security role that takes the lead on investigations delegating tasks to other analysts to determine root cause and source of threats.

    The Senior InfoSec Analyst also deploys mitigations, Antivirus, security software, and configuration safeguards to prevent the spread of malicious content, lateral movement, and escalation of privileges by attackers on the network.

    Threat Hunting & Lead Investigations

    The Senior InfoSec Analyst conducts proactive and reactive threat hunting using advanced tools and SIEM to analyze security event logs and to look for malicious activities or insider threats.

    As suspicious activity or threats are discovered, the Senior InfoSec Analyst provides documents finds and engages InfoSec analysts to help investigate indicators or compromise (IOCs) or threats and notifies administration or employee services regarding insider threat activity.

    Promote Security Policies, Practices and Tools
    The Senior InfoSec Analyst helps promote ministry security standards and creates policy recommendations for upper management.

    The Senior InfoSec Analyst also conducts regular tests and attack simulations to identify areas where the ministry is vulnerable and discover ways in which ministry systems might be exploited by hackers and viruses and leads penetration testing, deployment of red team tools, COTS, and industry standard security tools.

    Assess IT Security Policies & Deploy Mitigations
    Develop and review ministry security policies and ensure that systems adhere to established policies and configuration standards. Educate users through security and awareness training.

    If any policies do not adequately protect systems and data, deploy mitigations to provide additional safeguards until the policies and implementations of those policies are adequate.

    Cybersecurity & OpsSec Coordination & Development

    The Senior InfoSec Analyst establishes best practices for operational security for the Security & Network Operations Center (SOC/NOC) and helps develop security training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

    The Senior InfoSec Analyst coordinates with other departments and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the event of a major incident or ransomware attack to help disseminate guidance and adherence to IT's incident response plan.

    Education

    BS:
    Computer Science (Required), MS: Computer Science

    Work Experience
    1+ years in identifying and mitigating network vulnerabilities, 1+ years in information technology, 1+ years in patch management, 1+ years in penetration testing, 3+ years in information security

    Physical Requirements and Skills
