Job summary
The ER Tech is responsible for all basic patient care duties including therapeutic treatment as ordered by the physician on duty operation of laboratory equipment patient discharge and education Triage all patients upon arrival to determine their location of treatment Provide general patient care This includes therapeutic and diagnostic intervention Provide age and education-specific education to all patients Assure a clean work environment Follow all company policies Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures Encourage a work environment that is friendly and respectful Provide patients and their families with a customer-focused friendly reassuring open environment that encourages patient participation in health care decisions Accurately interpret a physicians instructions Assist the physician on duty with the treatment of patients Communicate with the physician regarding the patients needs client feedback operations coordinator observation Administer medications Collect specimens conduct laboratory tests Review uphold lab policies procedures Collaborate with health team members ensure the patients well-being evidenced staffclient feedback Execute physician orders including administration of medications treatments IVs according to policy procedure Observe document the patients response pertinent medications Prepare specimens operate lab equipment Review uphold lab policies procedures 100 attendance mandatory skills training yearly Maintain required professional certifications licenses Participate any certifications facility Maintain CEUs Complete yearly assigned education time Attend minimum four staff meetings read sign minutes meetings attended Patient education discharge instructions Follow infection control OSHA safety guidelines The physical demands described here are representative of those must met employee successfully perform essential functions this job While performing duties this job employee regularly required talk hear Specific vision abilities required this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception ability adjust focus This position requires intermittent physical activity standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching lifting supporting patients This job operates healthcare setting ER Technologist understand accept possibility exposure inside environmental conditions radiation noise infectiouscommunicable diseases blood bloodborne diseases chemicals chemical fumes odors gases dusts Position require working moving mechanical parts being exposed toxic caustic materials Position moderate noise phones computers printers medical equipment Position require standing walking sitting use hands reaching Position may also require climbing kneeling crouchingJob description
