    Experience:

    • medical assistant: 1 year (Required)
    • EMR systems: 1 year (Required)
    • medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
    • bilingual (Spanish preferred)
    • ECW experienced (Preferred)

    License:

    • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred)

    Clinical Duties:

    • Greet and prepare patients for examination and treatment by obtaining consent and taking vitals
    • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments & supplies
    • Enter patient medical information into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
    • Perform basic lab tests and sample analysis
    • Assist practitioners with patient examinations and procedures
    • Uses proper charting procedure, i.e., noting date, time signature and job title.
    • Records and documents all injections and/or immunizations given, including lot #, location and initials orders in accordance with procedure.
    • Completes chart prep for assigned provider daily to include review of ASIIS and enter into EMR as appropriate.
    • Handles sterile and dirty instruments used in the departments according to instrument processing procedures.
    • Keeps exam rooms/procedure rooms stocked/set up according to departmental guidelines.
    • Maintains, cleans and calibrates medical equipment to meet quality assurance and infection control guidelines (logs). Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor; takes equipment out of service.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
