    DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY:
    The Clinical Nutrition and Diabetes Department provides services in the inpatient, outpatient, and community setting

    POSITION OVERVIEW:
    The Registered Dietitian Tier 1 at St.

    Charles Health System participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary patient care team to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and education to meet the needs of identified patient population.

    This role will be a temporary position and will help food services and the Clinical Nutrition Manager launch a new food service software program.

    This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
    Applies information from the diet manual to food service menus. Assists with the MNT of new menus.
    Learns software program for recipe analysis.
    Will work closely with food service leaders, clinical nutrition manager, and diet aides.

    Will help determine what foods are allowed on each therapeutic diet and will create standard work for the diet aides.

    Stays current in nutrition knowledge as applied to patient populations. Participates and assists in a variety of quality improvement projects.
    Flexibility in working hours, days, and facilities for weekend and vacation coverage, for a variety of registered dietitian positions. Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests. Documents all patient care with proficiency in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies. Participates in creating intentional relationships and demonstrates focus attitudes and behaviors that enhance the care experience.
    Documents all patient care with proficiency in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies. Complete 1 clinical practice requirements per year, listed separately. Complete 15 CEU's per calendar year.

    EDUCATION Required:
    Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, plus completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved internship


    Preferred:

    Master's degreeLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATIONRequired:
    Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required. Current Oregon Licensure by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.

    Licensed Dietitian by the Oregon Health Licensing Agency; or qualify for a Registered Dietitian certification within 3 months of being hired with St.

    Basic experience in computer applications necessary to record time, obtain work directions, and complete assigned CBL's.
    Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access), database management, and document preparation.
    Demonstrated ability and experience in computer applications, use of electronic medical record keeping systems and MS Office.
