    WHAT YOU'LL DO:


    This position provides site safety and training leadership to ensure facility compliance with corporate safety standards, training requirements, implementation of safety directives, improving safety performance, and ensuring facility safety and training policies and procedures are aligned with governmental regulations.

    Develops plant safety, training and health programs and coordinates safety training programs. Facilitates a work environment that supports a proactive, positive safety culture.

    GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Lead and coach those involved in safety incident investigations to determine root causes and install preventive measures.

    Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.

    Manage company required and regulatory training on manufacturing related subjects using multiple resources
    Works well independently and in a team environment. Initiative-taker mentality, with minimal guidance.
    Track safety concerns and hazards from the floor and conduct follow-through for timely resolutions.
    Maintains, schedules training, and tracks all safety requirements and certifications for all employees.
    Ensure appropriate safety supplies and equipment are ordered and maintained in the plant safety inventory.
    Review physical job demand descriptions for changes and coordinate these changes through Human Resources.
    Manage new and ongoing workers compensation claims, to include on and offsite case management and return to work (RTW).
    Coordinate monthly safety meetings (includes plant wide meetings and other related safety meetings).
    Participation in Division safety related meetings, trainings and SCOPE audits, as necessary.

    Training:
    Provide annual and periodic safety training for general industry for all employees.
    Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
    Develop and conduct new hire safety orientation training.

    Support the following initiatives/projects:
    Support our upcoming VPP project initiative
    This position will be out on the production floor (30-40%) and then office work the remainder of the time.
    This position will require flexibility to meet varied shift hours. 40+ hours per week.
    Requires travel up to 15%

    MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
    Associate's degree or higher required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Three to five years' experience in general industry safety or related field required.
    Prior experience facilitating training sessions and safety management programs.
    Ability to pass pre-employment Physical, drug screening and background check.
    Certification & Licenses
    Completed OSHA 30 Hour, Trainer certification preferred
    First Aid/CPR/AED or EMR Training Certification preferred but not required.

    SALARY:
    $75,000/yr - $86,000/yr DOE
