- Acquires surplus property form university departments, and from various state government sources
- Monitors and administers maintenance of computerized inventory system of surplus acquisitions and of records pertaining to disposition of property leaving the university (e.g.: vehicle titles)
- Develops, revises, interprets and advises on policies and procedures which pertain to surplus property, storage, salvage, and recycling
- Examines and reviews documents for accuracy and adherence to policies and regulations (e.g.: surplus property documents, property disposal)
- Directs reassignment of property according to department request, regulates and determines disposition of surplus property
- Attends university and departmental seminars
- Determines types of commodities to be recycled
- Promotes the university's recycling program
- Responds to and resolves any issues that may arise in the areas of recycling, storage and surplus property
- Coordinates and manages the pickup and removal of surplus equipment, furniture, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Job Description
Alabama State University, Business and Finance, invites applications for the position of Inventory/Receiving Surplus Coordinator. This position reports to the Director of Inventory & Receiving.
Duties and Responsibilities:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, 5 years of technical work performing stocking and handling inventory of goods, to include supervisory experience.
