    Reporting to the Production Supervisor, Metal, the Metal Fabricator III is a strong team player who enjoys working in a creative, problem solving, and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    This role is a full-time, hourly position scheduled Monday-Friday with the availability for overtime when necessary.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:

    Fabricates, assembles, and finishes custom metal projects by using knowledge of metal fabrication processes (i.e., cutting, welding, gluing, shearing, bending, etc.) Can competently sand metal and use Bondo when necessaryHas good knowledge in reading, interpreting, and scaling blueprints with little guidanceCompletes quality control checks during build process, to ensure DI standards are met Is competent in all welding positions (flat, vertical, overhead)Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures necessary parts prior to assembly.

    This may include using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.

    Follows company safety policies and processes Open to receiving guidance and capable of initiating tasks with little supervisionAdheres to established work hours and takes responsibility for managing time effectivelyWillingly coaches and mentors Metal Fabricator I team members to help them continue to build their skills setRaises challenges or issues on projects proactivelyShares best practices and project build knowledge with other team membersWhen needed, fulfills additional production duties assigned based on skill setKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESDemonstrates strong technical skills in MIG weldingHas knowledge of TIG weldingConsistently demonstrates a positive attitude and high performing work ethic Has good knowledge of materials and their functionsCommunicates professionally and respectfully with co-workers in both verbal and written form.

    Knowledge of basic geometry, fractions, & decimals - both standard and metricConsistently holds self accountable and has excellent knowledge of general Production processesExhibits a positive, professional attitude and approachable communication/leadership styleKeen eye for quality control and quality assuranceEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEWelding degree from a technical school is strongly preferred2-4 years of experience as a metal fabricator requiredPrior experience working in custom metal fabrication environment or sign fabrication is strongly preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawlThe employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 poundsThe employee must be able to stand for extended periods of timeSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusEmployee must be able to talk and hearWORK ENVIRONMENTDue to our onsite Fabrication process, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
