- Operate hand and power tools such as shovels, rakes, saws, drills, etc.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth
- Safely work in and around open excavations
- Maintain a clean construction site free of trash and other debris
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations on the construction site
- Possibly operate various heavy construction equipment when instructed by supervisor
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in construction
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Previous experience in utility construction and/or sitework is preferred
