    The Payroll Specialist will report into the Director, Payroll and will help to execute on the service delivery of Prudential's US Payroll. The team has a heavy primary focus on payroll accounting, as well as payroll tax compliance. Based on our highly outsourced payroll operations support model, the team works closely with our payroll service provider to ensure that they are operating in an efficient, controlled, and compliant manner.

    This role will be Newark hybrid. Will consider virtual work arrangements if outside of the commutable NJ area.

    What you can expect:

    • Reviewing Payroll weekly control reports
    • Monitoring and Approving Daily Excessive Pay Audits
    • Working on open items resulting from the weekly Payroll meetings
    • Assist with managing monthly and Quarterly Accounting Reviews and Sign off
    • Handle escalated cases & follow up one-off employee or manager payroll and tax requests
    • May support User Acceptance Testing on Workday updates or monitoring enhancements
    • Security requests and recertifications

    What you'll need:

    • BA/BS in Management from an accredited college/university preferred, not required
    • Minimum 3+ years of Payroll experience working for a large organization or multi-state employer
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and within a team; strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
    • Ability to take the initiative to drive results; strong execution-mindset
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Be organized, flexible and prioritize tasks
    • Payroll Tax or Payroll Accounting knowledge preferred
    • Strong knowledge of Workday preferred

    It'd be a plus if you had:

    • Project management experience
    • Passion for process evolution, efficiency, technology & automation
    • General understanding of operational metrics and risk management
    • •Global Payroll experience a plus, but not required
