    Sr. Cost Accountant (Hybrid)The Sr. Cost Accountant position is responsible for monitoring, collecting, updating, analyzing, summarizing and evaluating cost related information. This position assists management decision making by continuous improvement of cost management processes and models to support margin analysis.

    Essential Functions

    • Performs month-end closing activities related to Cost Accounting.
    • Prepares and post numerous accounting journal entries.
    • Performs monthly raw material actual to budget spend analysis.
    • Prepares various ad-hoc analysis related to manufacturing and inventory as necessary to support financial decision making.
    • Analyzes various manufacturing variances on a day-to-day basis.
    • Reconciles general ledger account balances to perpetual records.
    • Prepares various supporting schedules for year-end audit.
    • Analyzes sales profitability by sku on a monthly basis.
    • Validates and analyze inventory standard costs daily.
    • Demonstrates a clear and adept understanding of the various functions within Oracle EBS.
    • Monitors and assesses inventory value and quantity on-hand daily to ensure accuracy for month-end.
    • Communicates and collaborates with necessary personnel to evaluate and post accruals.
    • Analyzes raw material cost trends to determine impact on financials.
    • Prepares various cost analysis forms to support customer-driven requests.
    • Assists and reviews quarterly scrap in regards to excess and obsolete inventory.
    • Enhances and streamlines existing business processes to improve efficiency of all tasks.
    • Assists finance teams and cross-functional leaders in reducing costs, improving operational performance, and helping make more informed decisions to support company growth.
    • Evaluates and reviews historical raw material spend and cost per case to support year-end budget decisions.
    • Assists in uploading and updating inventory overhead costs and usage rates for year-end.

    Qualifications

    • 4+ years of cost accounting experience preferably in the manufacturing/produce business.
    • 3+ years of operational experience, especially with inventory.
    • Solid understanding of financial statements and GAAP accounting principles.
    • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions.
    • Must be advanced in Microsoft Excel and proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
    • Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts and perform variance analysis.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced, growing environment.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other departments and auditors.
    • Sense of urgency and self-motivation, with a focus on completing deadlines on time.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Examine and validate financial work papers.
    • Prepare a variety of financial statements and reports in a timely manner.
    • Minimum Qualifications:
      • 4 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
      • 2 Years – Experience in Position
      • 2 Years – Experience managing people/projects

    Education

    • Minimum Required:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or other related fields or equivalent experience
    • Preferred:
      • Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance or other related fields or equivalent experience

    Certification/License:

    • Required: None
    • Preferred: CPA, CA Board of Accountancy (active preferred but inactive acceptable)

    Foreign Language

    • Required: None Required

    Preferred: Minimum Professional Proficiency, Spanish

    Typical Compensation Range

    Pay Rate Type: Salary$92, $134,816.00 / Yearly
