The Challenge and Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career professional looking to expand their technical expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

PrePass is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to contribute to the development of application prototypes, proof of concepts, and performance evaluations for new hardware and software frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development: Develop and maintain high-quality software using C# .NET and related technologies for both on-premise and cloud-based applications.
Hardware Interfacing: Create and manage software solutions that interact with hardware components, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
Testing & Debugging: Conduct thorough unit and integration testing, as well as field testing for hardware components, to ensure software quality and stability.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to translate hardware specifications into software requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Documentation: Maintain clear and concise technical documentation to support software maintainability and future enhancements.
Agile Development: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure effective software delivery.

Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 1-2 years of experience developing software applications using C#/Java/C++/Python.
Skills: Strong understanding of core computer science concepts, familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Test-Driven Development (TDD), strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Tools: Proficiency in Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git, experience with manual and unit testing.

Bonus Points

Transportation Industry Experience: Experience developing software for the transportation industry.
Hardware Interfacing: Familiarity with hardware interfacing protocols and communication methods.
Cloud Platforms: Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
