- Design and execute procurement strategies specific to defense and military aviation markets.
- Ensure procurement initiatives align with company objectives and long-term growth in government contracting.
- Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and execution of competitive bids for defense and government clients (DoD, State Department, Homeland Security, NATO, foreign military sales, etc.).
- Manage contract administration in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and related regulations.
- Track performance metrics to guarantee cost, schedule, and quality goals are achieved.
- Address contractual disputes, oversee risk management, and apply corrective measures.
- Uphold compliance with procurement laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Serve as internal subject-matter expert on defense acquisition rules, including ITAR, CMMC, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Act as primary liaison with military agencies, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government buyers, defense clients, and industry partners to support business growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in defense procurement, government contracting, or aerospace/aviation.
- Proven success in securing and managing large-scale military contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and defense procurement lifecycle.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Established relationships with DoD contracting officers or military acquisition offices.
- Eligibility for U.S. Government security clearance preferred.
- Experience with major defense programs.
- Familiarity with federal procurement portals.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, finance, legal, and operations teams.
