    About CEISMC Research and Evaluation:

    For over a decade, the CEISMC Research and Evaluation Group has utilized their collective expertise to advance knowledge and practice in STEM education.

    We believe in fostering a collaborative environment to conduct research and program evaluation to advance STEM education opportunities for students, teachers, and the academic community throughout Georgia and the United States.

    We are looking to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern.

    Job Summary


    Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies.

    Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs.

    This position will interact on a consistent basis with:

    Responsibilities

    Job Duty 1 -Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.

    Job Duty 2 -Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.

    Job Duty 3 -Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.

    Job Duty 4 -May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.

    Job Duty 5 -Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.

    Job Duty 6 -Perform other duties as assigned

    Responsibilities

    Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Organizing research documents
    • Synthesize research in the form of literature reviews
    • Assisting with conducting basic statistical analyses of quantitative research data
    • Coding and analysis of qualitative data sources including interviews, focus groups, and open-ended response survey questions
    • Participating in preparation of written reports and/or presentations
    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

    High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

    Required Experience

    Up to two years of job related experience

    Preferred Qualifications


    • Education required for this job: High school diploma
    • Prior experience in qualitative research methods
    • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively
    • Experience working in a research lab or group, especially working with human subjects and/or behavioral research
    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


    SKILLS


    This job requires working knowledge in the use of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to assigned lab.

    Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications is required.

    This is not a supervisory position.

    This position does not have any financial responsibilities.

    This position will not be required to drive.

    This role is not considered a position of trust.

    This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).

    Other Information


    The full-time (40 hrs/week) position will be available during summer 2024 (starting June 17th , ending August 1st) and work will be in person on Georgia Tech¿s Atlanta campus.

    This position is contingent upon funding.
