    Who We Are

    Located in Plymouth Meeting, PA, Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital is a multi-service animal hospital offering general practice, specialty services, 24/7 emergency care, boarding, grooming, daycare, and rehabilitation. We re known for our long-standing commitment to client relationships, high-quality medicine, and a team-first culture where every voice matters.

    What You ll Do

    As a Veterinary Technician, you ll play a vital role in supporting our doctors and patients across various services. Whether you're assisting in surgery, monitoring hospitalized pets, or guiding clients through aftercare, your day will be filled with opportunities to make a difference.

    In this role, you will:

    • Perform and support inpatient and outpatient care, including triage, diagnostics, treatments, and discharges
    • Assist with emergency cases, anesthesia, and surgical preparation/monitoring
    • Manage labs, bloodwork, radiographs, and medication administration (IV, IM, SQ, oral)
    • Provide clear, compassionate client communication and education
    • Maintain accurate medical records and patient logs (SOAPs)
    • Monitor hospitalized patients, collaborate on rounds, and support overnight emergencies (if applicable)
    • Participate in training and mentorship for new team members
    • Support your department s organization, cleanliness, and inventory

    You ll be trained and encouraged to cross-train with different specialties (ER, anesthesia, surgery, internal medicine, and more), allowing you to broaden your skill set and explore different areas of interest.

    Anticipated Schedule

    This is a full-time position with the following schedule:

    • Sunday - Wednesday: 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM

    Compensation

    • Starting at $21-$26/hr, depending on experience and credentials
    • $5,000 sign-on bonus

    What We re Looking For:

    We re seeking veterinary professionals who are confident, caring, and ready to grow. You ll thrive in this role if you have:

    • Experience as a Veterinary Technician (credentialed or non-credentialed)
    • Proficiency in basic technical skills (IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, triage, etc.)
    • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
    • A strong work ethic and a team-first mentality
    • Passion for patient care and client support
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
