    Chief Estimator Role at Trueline


    We are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to join our team. This role involves preparing comprehensive estimates and budgets for mid to high-rise residential and commercial office projects.

    Key Responsibilities


    • Estimate Preparation: Craft detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
    • Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Site Visits and Pre-Bid Conferences: Participate in pre-bid conferences and conduct site visits.
    • Subcontractor Evaluation: Evaluate subcontractor scopes and analyze quotes.
    • Bid Status Reports: Generate bid status reports and ensure compliance with specifications and contracts.
    • Cost Estimates: Present cost estimates and consider general and special conditions.
    • Quantity Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs and input data into estimating software.
    • Cost Code Database: Maintain a database of cost codes for historical reference.

    Qualifications


    • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
    • Experience: 7-10 years of estimating experience.
    • Advanced Skills: Advanced skills in project estimating, including value engineering.
    • Proficiency: Proficiency in engineering terminology.
    • Skill Set: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Communication and Organization: Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail.
    • Construction Knowledge: Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
    • Independence and Prioritization: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database software.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


    • Project Experience: Experience with mid to high-rise residential or commercial projects.
    • Market Familiarity: Familiarity with Stamford, CT real estate market.
    • Certifications: Certifications in estimating or construction management.
