    A growing Insurance Company looking to add an

    Accounting and Financial Systems Specialist

    to the team.


    This position reports to the Manager of General Accounting & Financial Systems and is responsible for assisting with the general accounting, financial systems, close process and supervising the daily tasks involved therewith.

    This position's primary focus will be associated with the general ledger process and the need to maintain the integrity of the underlying general ledger information and requirement to meet pre-stated deadlines in an efficient manner.


    Responsibilities:


    Supervise and support the General Accounting & Financial Systems close process to ensure that all deliverables are met in a timely and accurate manner.

    Assist in responding to regulatory and internal and external auditor requests.


    Supervise and support the team in the timely reconciliation of intercompany accounts, as required, to ensure the Companies meet defined deadlines.

    This will encompass working with various departments within the company within a very short window.

    Assist in the IFRS data entry and validation process quarterly. Analyze, review and provide guidance and support on how to clear all validation errors before locking. Ensure the financial data is complete, accurate and has been loaded and locked timely as defined by the calendar.


    Assist with the troubleshooting and resolution of reporting issues arising from system malfunctions and/or new system implementations, new reporting guidance, and new or changed accounting/reporting changes.

    Review and approve account analyses, reconciliations, journal entries, and other tasks as needed on multiple basis of accounting.

    Participate in special projects as assigned.


    Requirements:
    B.S. in Accounting

    5+ years' experience in GAAP and/or IFRS and STAT financial reporting

    Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and STAT accounting guidance – ability to research accounting related issues

    Strong communication and analytical skills

    Ability to work independently and bring complex issues to resolution

    Strong attention to detail

    Strong multi-tasking skills

    Ability to work under very tight deadlines

    Continually seeks to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the reporting process


    Preferred Skills:

    CPA preferred


    Public Accounting experience preferred


    Experience with SAP financial systems, TM1 and Trintech a plus.


    Compensation:
    $110,000-$140,000
