Duties

• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling tailored to each pet's breed and individual needs
• Handle dogs and other small animals with care, ensuring safe restraint and comfort during grooming procedures
• Assess each pet's health condition, noting any abnormalities or concerns that may require veterinary attention or special handling
• Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming area, tools, and equipment to uphold health standards
• Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide professional advice on pet care and maintenance
• Assist with pet handling tasks such as dog training, animal restraint, and basic veterinary-related procedures when needed
• Support team members with kennel duties or pet sitting tasks to ensure overall animal well-being

Experience

• Previous experience in pet grooming is highly preferred; certification from a recognized grooming program is a plus
• Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles demonstrates valuable animal care knowledge
• Familiarity with dog training techniques and dog handling skills enhances your ability to work confidently with diverse pets
• Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics or kennels provides a strong foundation in animal handling and care
• Knowledge of pet sitting, animal restraint, heavy lifting, and general pet care practices is advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills are essential for building trust with clients and addressing their needs effectively
• Ability to work physically demanding shifts involving heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and detailed grooming tasks
