- Arrive to work in a timely manner to ensure that aquatics areas are in good running order and that you are at the stand as scheduled
- Maintain an alert and professional appearance on the lifeguard stand
- Respond to emergencies using rescue techniques and equipment
- Practice proactive pool scanning in an effort to prevent aquatic emergencies
- Maintain knowledgeable of aquatic policies and be able to effectively communicate these to members and guests
- Enforce aquatic policies
- Maintain and repair aquatic equipment as directed, including: safety equipment, exercise equipment, cleaning supplies, and aquatic equipment
- Complete daily cleaning tasks
- Complete daily water chemistry readings
- Maintain familiarity with acac programs to manage questions and communicate knowledgeably to acac members and guests
- Proactively assist members with finding space/lane to use
- Assist with daily cleaning tasks and other items as assigned
- Attend lifeguard in-service training and departmental meetings Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit throughout a shift
- Must be able to successfully pass lifeguard certification requirements at all times
- Must be able to successfully perform rescue skills during in-service training
- Ability to successfully demonstrate proper rescue techniques using use of rescue equipment
- Must be able to work in an often warm and humid environment with heightened noise
- Ability to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Prior lifeguarding experience preferred
- Current Lifeguard, CPR, AED and first aid certifications
- RedCross Lifeguard certification preferred
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Superior customer service skills
- Read, sign, and abide by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook
- Park in team member designated areas
- Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean
- Assist with Service Days
- Willingness to assist with acac programs, special events, or activities outside your department
- When supervisor or team member calls or emails, promptly return contact
- Exhibit a positive attitude at all times
- Deliver outstanding service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, a pleasant demeanor at all times
