    Department: Primary Care - Island

    Position is located: Island Family Medicine

    Work Type: Full Time

    Hours Per Week: 40 Hours per Week

    Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

    Summary:

    Maintaining a high level of skill in proper documentation in electronic medical records. Greeting and welcoming all patients. Managing all encounters and pertinent consents/forms, preparing 24 hours in advance for the next business day. Performing reminder calls within 24 hours to patients regarding their appointment date/time, confirming that the patient has pre-registered, or facilitating pre-registration if needed. Executing excellence in customer service.

    Responsibilities:

    Gold Standard Behaviors: Practicing professionalism, respect, and empathy. Utilizing technology effectively.

    Customer Service: Demonstrating high-level customer service, promoting schedule access, offering map applications to patients who may benefit from financial assistance, and providing education and access to portals.

    Medical Records: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records through scanning and HIM. Returning calls/messages within one business day.

    Point of Care Collections: Collecting point-of-care data at the time of service. Ensuring accurate encounter form management, including PCP, Pharm, and DOS.

    Clinical Operations: Participating in quality control/performance improvement activities. Observing safety rules/regulations/policies and procedures. Proper use of BHMH property and equipment.

    Administrative Tasks: Balancing cash boxes at the end of the day, verifying payments, and recording on receipt sheets. Forwarding encounter forms to billing offices daily.

    Education:

    Required: High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)

    Working Conditions:

    Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive people. Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing. Lifting, moving, and loading 20 to 30 pounds.
