- Assisted with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checked in patients; assisted in obtaining patient histories; took vital signs; prepared charts; and assisted with medical examinations.
- Maintains stocks of medical supplies as necessary in the exam rooms.
- Interview patients and record information, including a week of pregnancy, if applicable, and document on patients' charts.
- Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
- Practices safety, environmental, and infection control methods.
- Performs standing orders as approved by the department and in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients.
- Works and completes tasks in the electronic medical record system in a timely manner.
- Translate when necessary.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant certificate or training.
- BLS/CPR Certification.
- 0-3 years of experience in a related field.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish/Creole).

Services provided include internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, HIV/AIDS services, dental, endocrinology, ophthalmology and optometry, psychiatry and behavioral health, podiatry, and geriatrics. All three locations have laboratory and pharmacy services. MBCHC pharmacies have 340B pricing. Free medication is available for patients through pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs for those who qualify. Free transportation and translation services are also available for those who need them. In addition, we offer assistance with case management such as enrollment in health insurance from the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare"), enrollment in Medicare, and Healthy Start prenatal services.
