- Conduct regular inspections of pedestrian infrastructure, such as sidewalks, crosswalks, ramps, and pedestrian signals, to ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes, and accessibility standards.
- Verify that construction activities adhere to approved plans, design requirements, and safety regulations.
- Identify and document any deviations, deficiencies, or safety hazards, and promptly communicate them to the project team for corrective action.
- Collaborate with contractors and project staff to address compliance issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, including photographs, measurements, and detailed reports.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports to the project manager, highlighting observations, recommendations, and corrective actions taken.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports and contribute to the overall project documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with the project team, including engineers, designers, and construction personnel, to ensure a coordinated approach to pedestrian infrastructure inspections.
- Attend project meetings to provide updates on inspection activities, discuss any issues or concerns, and contribute to decision-making processes.
- Communicate with stakeholders, such as local authorities, community members, and the public, to address inquiries, complaints, or feedback related to pedestrian facilities.
- Participate in quality control activities by conducting field measurements, material tests, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor the construction process to ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and specifications.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest modifications to enhance the quality and functionality of pedestrian facilities.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and promote a culture of safety on the construction site.
- Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Report any safety incidents or violations to the project manager and assist in the investigation of accidents or near-miss occurrences.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in construction, civil engineering, or a related field preferred
- Valid driver's license is a must
- Proven experience in construction inspection with a focus on pedestrian facilities and infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, ADA accessibility guidelines, and industry standards related to pedestrian infrastructure.
- Familiarity with construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify defects or deviations from design requirements.
- Proficient in using inspection tools, equipment, and software for documenting and reporting findings.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in pedestrian ramp construction or inspection.
